It is said that Hazrath Ali (as) has performed the necessity prayers of who has affection to him. Is there any reality in this claim?
This kind of claim could be valid neither religiously nor logically. Even Hazrath Ali (as) has loved Hasan and Hussein (his sons) at most, they and their descendants have never claimed as, Our namaz (performing a ritual prayer) has been performed. On the contrary, they have not just performed farz namaz (religious duty required for all Muslims) they also have performed sunnah [what the Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) said, did or approved of> namaz (practices) and Nafil namaz (Voluntary) in the proper sense.
Claiming that prayer (namaz) is no more obligation (required religious duty) for believers who follow Hazrath Ali (as.) because of his having performed it, is just like claiming one has eaten food during his lifetime so his descendants have full stomachs or he is erudite so his descendants are all intellectuals. If it is considered that Hazrath Ali (as) has performed namaz for Muslims who love him as true for a moment, there comes the picture as follows:
Except for the Harijis, just because all Muslims love Ali (as) faithfully, all of the ayats (verses of Quran) and Hadiths (specific reports of the Prophet Mohammads (pbuh) words and deeds as well as those of many of the early Muslims) are only binding for Hazrath Ali (as) and Harijis. However, addressee of the verses and hadiths are all of the Muslims who will ever exist until the Judgment Day.

On the other hand, according to this understanding after Hazrath Alis (as) death, every literal (theological) work, which was written on namaz, every masceed and mosque that was ever built for namaz for billions of Muslims to pray in, are all meaningless and unnecessary. Besides, it is so clear that Hazrath Alis (as) probable life would not have been adequate to perform namaz for billions of Muslims who will ever come until the Judgment Day.
After clarifying this claim as not to be true logically, we should point out that, It is Allahs command that namaz is a religious duty (farz) for all Muslims including Prophets. Nobody can perform namaz on behalf of someone else.
Allah (swt), in the Surah Baqarah by stating that It gets every good that it earns, and it suffers every ill that it earns holds every Muslims oneself responsible for their rewards and punishments.
There are more than one hundred verses relating namaz in the Holy Book Quran. In the Surah Al-Nisaa, (perform your prayers) such prayers are enjoined on believers at stated times (Al-Nisaa Surah, 4:1-3)
Our Prophet also stated that, Namaz is the central pillar of religion and declared the importance of namaz in his Hadiths to his followers. He (pbuh), even in the brutal times of the wars, did not leave namaz to compensate it later, did not sacrifice congregational namaz which is more meritorious and had Muslims perform congregation namaz in two groups. Our Prophet (pbuh) also gave importance to nafil (voluntary) namaz, sometimes performed it until sunrises.
Our Prophet once to his Companions (Sahaba-i Kiram):
If there was a river at the door of anyone of you and he took a bath in it five times a day, would you notice any dirt on him? They said, Not a trace of dirt would be left. The Prophet (pbuh) added, That is the example of the five times namaz with which Allah (swt) blots out evil deeds. (Bukhari Hadith Book)

Our Prophet once told to our Mother Fatima:
Fatima: do not ever leave your namaz just because you are the daughter of Allahs Messenger (pbuh). I swear to Allah (swt) who sent me as a Prophet, you would never rewarded with paradise unless you perform five times prayers at stated times. (Abdullatif, Meclisul-Envaril Mohammadiyya. p, 286)
