Is it religiously allowed to marry without the permission of Parents?
A Brief Description of the Question:
My problem revolves around marriage. The girl I wish to marry, her aunt and my mother were once very close, you could say sisters. They had a major falling out a couple of years ago and my mom refuses to forgive her about whatever she has done and refuses to tell us what it is. My mom wants to cut off all contact with her and her family. She gave me a choice, either to not get married to the girl and if I do she will disown me. Am I allowed to get married without her permission?
The Answer:
A man doesn’t have to have the permission from his parents for marriage. But the consent of the family is an important issue. It is better when he gains their consent. But when he marries without permission, he doesn’t become a sinner.
