What Islam say about gay marriage? Is it allowed?
A Brief Description of the Question:
What Islam say about gay marriage? Is it allowed?
The Answer:
Such a marriage is not permissible. In Islam, homosexuality, which is a form of immorality like fornication and prostitution, is definitely forbidden. Homosexuality is an immoral crime that is contrary to human personality and honor.
The following is stated in the verse that narrates the immorality of the people of Sodom “And (remember) Lut; behold he said to his people: "Ye do commit lewdness, such as no people in Creation (ever) committed before you.” (al-Anakbut, 29/28) However, in other verses, it is stated that they could not get away with the evil deeds they committed and that they were destroyed by the bitter wrath coming from the sky.
Homosexuality is contrary to the law of creation. Everything was created in pairs. Even in animals and plants, new products occur within the framework of the law of pairs. The fact that human beings were created in pairs has the same wisdom. The duty of the male of the pair is to inseminate and the duty of the female is to be inseminated. That is, the sperm of the man is in charge of inseminating and the woman is in charge of being inseminated and developing the embryo for the reproduction of human beings.
It is unthinkable for Islam, which was designed by Allah to show people the right path, to allow such aberration and deviance full of oppression.
Who is Prophet Loot (Lut)?
Hazrat Loot is the son of Aaron, Hazrat Ibrahim’s brother. He was sent as a prophet to the people of Sodom who started the practice of homosexuality for the first time. They were destroyed totally, because they did not obey Hazrat Loot and went on that disgusting deed. The following is stated in the verse about it:
“We also (sent) Loot: he said to his people: "Do you commit lewdness such as no people in creation (ever) committed before you? For you practise your lusts on men in preference to women: you are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds." And his people gave no answer but this: they said "Drive them out of your city: these are indeed men who want to be clean and pure!" But We saved him and his family except his wife: she was of those who lagged behind. And We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): then see what was the end of those who indulged in sin and crime!” (al-Araf, 7/80-84).
